The Putnam Lake Fire Department has had a busy year, responding to over 600 calls for service in 2023. From fires to medical emergencies, the dedicated volunteers of the department have been on the front lines, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.

The department, which serves the town of Putnam Lake and surrounding areas, has seen an increase in call volume compared to previous years. Chief Michael Cairney attributes the rise in calls to the growing population in the area, as well as an increase in emergency incidents.

“Our volunteers are committed to serving the community and responding to any emergency that arises,” Chief Cairney said. “We have a dedicated team of firefighters and EMTs who work tirelessly to ensure the safety of our residents.”

The Putnam Lake Fire Department provides a range of services, including fire suppression, emergency medical services, and rescue operations. They also actively engage in community outreach and education, promoting fire safety and preparedness.

“We are proud of the hard work and dedication of our volunteers,” Chief Cairney added. “The community relies on us to be there when they need us, and we take that responsibility very seriously.”

In addition to responding to emergencies, the department also focuses on training and maintaining state-of-the-art equipment to ensure they are prepared for any situation.
