23-Marine-1 Makes First Rescue

Today at approximately 1710hrs the Putnam Lake Fire Department was alerted to a capsized canoe with 3 occupants in the water near Lake Shore Drive and Fulton Drive. Fire Chief James Gagliardo Jr. arrived on scene, assuming command, and made contact with the boaters. Busy Weekend for Putnam Lake Firefighters

Busy weekend for Putnam Lake firefighters!

Started off the weekend with the motor vehicle accident on Doansburg Road blocking traffic in and out of Putnam lake for over 16 hours. During the accident Putnam Lake FD also responded to a fire alarm on Federal Hill Road in Brewster. The accident victim was transported to the ER with minor injuries later being released.

Weekly Drill: Portable Pond Training

Members of the fire department practicing with our portable ponds tonight for our weekly training drill. Living in an area with no fire hydrants and limited water sources, portable ponds help maintain a positive water supply at the scene of a fire.
